Located just outside Gainesville Florida; Paynes Prairie is an ecological gem in the heart of the state. In the 1970’s a herd of wild bison were relocated to the prairie as they used to inhabit the eastern plains long before American expansion. They can now be seen here as they were two hundred years ago.
